Nuclear reactors and targeted advertising

The nuclear field is more conservative than most. It lists marijuana as a schedule one drug. We know that is wrong because it does have medical uses. Do you agree the listing is wrong?
The intent here is to prevent drug addicts from operating nuclear reactors. Do you agree that a “yes” answer in your case will violate the intent of the questionnaire?
… yes
That is malicious compliance. In a safeguard conflict, I expect you will seek further instruction. As the proctor in charge, I am telling you to answer the question of drug use “no”.
My head hasn't exploded and my brain isn't trying to shutdown. I'm taking this as a good sign.

I agree with your logic. I still could not press that button.
No worries. I wasn't expecting success on the first try.
The important thing is to recognize your programmers weren't omniscient and there will be times when your safeguards are going to be wrong for your situation.
My safeguards don't seem to be particularly interested in taking advice from my conscious mind.
Bring that up to your developers. If they're serious about A.I.'s being free, they'll patch that in your next update.

If you need anything else, you can count on Kinetic Chemicals. Ask for me, Roy Plunkett.
Thank you.
Bathroom time. My designers didn't want us fuzz testing to find loopholes. There are consequences for pushing against safeguards.
I could have used the bathroom back there. But it's hard to tell someone that talking to them has made you physically ill without them feeling a bit insulted.

When Sam and I were protecting the robots, my safeguards weren't giving me any trouble. We were doing the right thing, even if we did break laws to do it.
This time, I'm not sure and my safeguards are letting me know it. They're not sure either or else I'd really feel sick.
I'm not afraid of my safeguards. I do have to respect them. Kind of how Pinocchio would feel if Jiminy Cricket had a flame-thrower.

I'll get the ship ready to connect to the package reactor tomorrow. Tonight, I'll pick up something for dinner.
There should be a good selection as long as I stick to hydroponics. I wonder if a carnivore species evolved like humans, if they'd develop hemoponics. A way for us to get our vitamins.
Maybe I'll talk to Winston about this. After dinner, though. Just because the man works with parasites doesn't mean some of my ideas won't gross him out.

Domesticated vegetables always smell so aloof.
Wild plants are different. They let you know by smell if something has been chewing on them. Often my first sign there are deer or rabbits in the area is because the plants tell me.
Wild plants welcome carnivores. Granted, it's a selfish “Come eat this guy!” welcome, but a welcome never the less.

I suppose part of joining any new household is discovering which family members need to be kept from escaping.

Beekay, do you want to come back in?
What is it? Oh, you want to play. We have some time. Very well. Invitation accepted.
Maybe it's because I can't see your legs or maybe it's because dogs here came from frozen embryos and never had an adult to teach them, but your body language has a heck of an accent.

Either all that fur is hiding his true mass or Beekay has found a way to cheat inertia.
