While Nala and Simba were in jungle, the life at Priderock went on. After Zira`s and Scar`s son was born, the two planned to have another child. A little daughter would made their little family complete. But life at the Pridelands became harder and harder. There was not much food left and sometimes the lionesses haven`t something to eat for days. Hunting for the big pride became a hard job during the dry season and so the lionesses decided only to hunt every second day, even if Scar wasn`t very satisfied with that, but as long as his tummy get filled regulary his moaning was less.

One night Zira noticed that one of her pridesisters acted strange. In the middle of the night she stole away. Zira followed her secretly. Maybe this lioness hid prey from them which would be unacceptable. After all the royal family always ate first before all others.
