Nerf Now!! 2081
I believe the most relevant character in the Overwatch lore get the higher cards, and the least popular ones, or the ones without too much ties with the rest of the cast, get the lower ones.
That's why Orisa and Symmetra got the 9, they have almost no ties with the rest of the cast. Even on gaming, networking is important.
recently I decided to try as many games as possible and I give a chance to Salt and Sanctuary. The game homage to Dark Souls is obvious and I really wanted to enjoy it, but I did not…
Dark Souls, at least for me, was about finding the combo of weapon + armor which feels just right for you and rolling with it. The game combat had a depth which satisfied. SnS 2d combat lacked that one extra dimension which made all the difference.
Dark Souls combat isn't exactly fast, but combat is not that common and you can mostly avoid it if you want so this isn't an issue. Salt and Sanctuary mob density is annoying and avoiding than is harder because you can't just run by their side. Doesn't help the enemies WILL follow you to other rooms, creating a possible mob train of death.
The veredict here is.. I did not found SnS combat deep enough to be interesting, or flashy enough to be exciting. It's a slow slog versus blocking enemies until you fall from a platform and die.
To close, I did not find the game exactly eye catching. Not saying it's ugly but I'm not making fanart of it for example.
Next rant I'll talk about Darkest Dungeon. Stay tuned…

I was extremely hyped about Darkest Dungeon, then the hype died when I found out how punishing the game was… hype came back with the release of Radiant (aka, easy) mode and died again when I started playing it and my units started a spiral of stress, disease and mental illness and yet… I keep coming back for more so I guess the game is good?
I like most of the things about the game. The narrative, the art, the combat, etc, etc. HOWEVER… one aspect of the game I don't like is how your units slowly but surely pile up negative traits to a point you need to pick a fresh one. The issue here isn't (only) a personal attachment to the veteran who fought countless battles but the need to train a replacement. It's an annoying setback which i utterly dislike.
Going back to easier dungeons with underpowered units after having tasted the end-game is just not fun and I'm baffled has someone though this was a good idea, specially when the game itself is already grindy.
One way to see Darkest Dungeon gameplay is a slow death march when you do 2 steps ahead, 1 step back. The death march by itself is a test of endurance, but the step back is the extra kick in the nuts I think I could live without.
But the game got tentacles, so they get a pass.

Before you got all excited like I did, Arms Race is a community created contest and while look like there is a prize, I don't think the selected items will be featured inside the game officially.
I admit I got a bit excited with the possibility of seeing new weapons, but unless said weapons actually change gameplay like Kritzkrieg and the Flare Gun did, it's hard to get overly excited.
Well, we still have (theorically) the Pyro update thing… right?

Truth be told, I never enjoyed Overwatch casual mode. You have slightly more success going doing crazy stuff on Quick Play than on Competitive, but organization (read; healers) will still rule the day.
Even if you want to «play seriously» and try to pick whatever your team needs on casual mode, it will not mater much if your team has 3 hanzos and 2 symmetras.
Casual is where you go to farm boxes, train new heroes and have fun as long as winning isn't part of the equation.

Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of games with bad, tragic ends. Sure, I can enjoy this (a bit) on books or movies but games take lots of time and effort. I want my reward in the end, thank you.
Bastion and Transistor spoiler alert: At Bastion end, you can either be pick to be stuck in a time loop (the game restarts) or let the old world die. Hardly a glorious triumph but hey, I take it. Honestly, at the time I was just happy I figured the whole loop thing and went straight to the «fuck the world» end. Still, like I said, hardly a huge success.
Still, I enjoyed the gameplay, art and narrative so I bought Transistor without thinking twice and lo and behold, the ending is even more bleak than Transistor.
What the fuck Supergiant. Do you guys have some sadness fetish? Do you code in black with the lights out while sipping bitter coffee? Is saving the day too cool for you guys?
I made myself a promisse: If Supergiant Games release another game I'll flat out ask people if the game is another nihilistic drama so I can save myself the effort, all while bitching about how I hated both games ends.
This comic is that bitching.
p.s. Yeah, I'm still bitter about Transistor end.

Part of me regrets not having started this series drawing the beasts as cute anim girls, but I think the jokes would be lost in translation if the animals did not look so.
I have a persistent cold which been hanging out for a while, starting to get worried. Time to drink more water and get some rest I guess.

I'm playing Hyper Light Drifter, probably past half of the game at this point with 2 bosses dead and I still have no idea of the game plot.
If someone asked me, I'd say the rejects from the anime Evangelion tried to destroy the world and gave you tuberculosis when you defeated them. You go around the world reactiving purple crystals to perhaps turn on the last drugstore with some antibiotics.
While I won't say a solid narrative is mandatory to make a good game, stuff like Darkest Dungeon spoiled me.
