I figured a human built ship would want to get back to its creators. Now for the hard part. Adding Sam to the mix.
If I can get the ship to see that our captain can be a stepping stone to its goal, it should become friendlier towards him.
Success. Now instead of constantly wanting to kill Sam, I think it will settle for the occasional maiming.
