Nerf Now!! 2421

Ugh, my throat is still sore and now my stomach is acting too, I'd like to stay positive but I feel it's time to visit the doctor again…

Anyway, enjoy the comic… I'll perhaps buy the new Megaman to have some fuel for some new strips.

Cya!

For those who don't get it, it's not uncommon for people who buy Nendoroid D-va to buy Funko Pop D-va just to take the Meka. This probably leads to lots of angry Meka-less baby D-vas.

Having adult games on Steam changes little for right now since I could easily just buy it on other channels but I guess having the platform open for devs means more games will arrive there.

Who knows, maybe one day we'll even see eroges with higher production value.

p.s. Hearthstone still suck and Magic still looking good. I'd be worried if I was Blizzard but I think they have too much money to care.

Here's the thing, gamers always complain about their game, and Hearthstone players always complain about the meta after the honeymoon stage of a new expansion, so I will not say Blizzard is wrong in saying this meta is fine.

That said…

The Boomsday expansion honeymoon period was pretty short and overall people were not overly hyped for what is seen as a «low power» expansion.

The streamer scene (for whatever is worth) started to complain a lot about the game, and I mean A LOT.

I, personally, think this is the worst expansion Hearthstone has had, but this is mostly because my style of play (clown fiesta RNG card generation) is not competitive.

So maybe Blizzard is right and the meta is fine, or the meta sucks but Blizzard thinks it's good enough to claim any change may make things even worse.

HOWEVER…

With the release of Magic the Gathering Arena stealing some big streamers, Blizzard announced, yes, changes are coming.

What pisses me is that no matter if Blizzard thinks the changes are needed or not, what caused the changes was the rise of a competitor, not a need to make their players happy. If there was no Magic Arena, I doubt we would be seeing any changes or improvements.

I enjoyed Wildstar design, kinda like WoW but more stylized and sci-fi instead of fantasy.

However, MMORPGs are always too filled of chaff to be worth playing.

Fun fact – I played Wildstar with a controller and it was loads of fun, definitely better than using a keyboard, which make me think if they had planned a console release at some point.

The Hearthstone patch arrived and it was… underwhelming.

I guess Team 5 believes a diverse meta is what matters, even if it's a polarized one where you either insta-win or insta-lose. I could go on a long rant about why current meta sucks but I don't even have the energy for that… Team 5 is either lazy or mad genius of balancing but the truth is I just can't deal with another match versus Ramp Druid.

The jury is out there if the current meta is good or bad but I know it's not for me.

I actually have a good rant about this game but I need to go to the gym so I'll own you this one.

Bye!

I was about to buy Omensight (it's on sale) but I do what I always do which is check the reviews first and not surprisingly most of the complains were about the ending.

Omensight joins the rank of many, many, MANY indie games which for whatever reason refuse to give the player a happy conclusion. Nope, glorious triumph, it seen, is something you need to pay 60 USD or more to get.

On Omensight defense they just released a patch which added a non-bleak ending to the game. Kudos to them… still I was so pissed about yet another indie game being edgy which I created this comic just to shit on them.

I could make a list of all indie games I played lately which have sad / bittersweet / bleak endings but this would be kind spoilerish but know this: you are not being original when every other indie game with a story is doing the same thing giving us a shitty ending.

Rant end.

An ex-employee talked about working conditions at Rockstar being less than ideal and by less than ideal we are talking about 100 a hours week crunch.

Rockstar reacted by allowing their current employees to freely talk on social media about how is to work there. Now, some points…

I seriously doubt they have a 100 hours weekly routine at Rockstar right now since I doubt the company would risk some employee simply telling the truth. This doesn't mean this was not true some years ago thou. I also believe some crunch may happen, but the real number is up to debate.

However, if the people at Rockstar were being whipped into shape to deliver the game in time I very much doubt anyone would come ahead and say anything. This will ruin your reputation inside AND outside the company and who would hire someone who goes on social media to talk bad about you?

Still, nobody was seen to have said anything dire about Rockstar at least publicity so there is that thou there are rumors of anonymous sources telling a slightly different tale…

When companies decide to do announcements, especially when things aren't perfect they do what I call «PR bullshit» where they'll try to sell shit as gold, ignore the issue or say they are monitoring the issue.

Only when sales plummet it seen they move their ass thou in some cases it's too little, too late.

At this point, I simply ignore whatever they say because it's never useful but I wonder if there are people out there who eat their stories and believe what they say. I mean, they are telling this to someone, right?
