Once I figured out that enemies killed by friendly fire don't count towards my own kill count, I became much less concerned with preventing people from dying, as long as it could be believed that I wasn't directly involved. Big Boss spent a lot of vehicle fights heroically kiting armored cars over sleeping pedestrians.

When I was a kid my mom told me that if I ate enough Flintstones vitamins, I would be able to shiv twice as many monsters before my weapon broke, and I have never found reason to doubt this fact.

Now Hiring

The quickest way to get someone to fanatically join your cause is to shoot them, tie them to a big balloon and then let them ride around in your cool helicopter, I guess.

Family Resemblance

This game comes right at you out of the gate and tells you that all the cool royal kids have dragon blood, but only you are special enough to look like a weirdo because of it. Also, you're the only person in your family who's allergic to shoes.

Also, in a game where family lineage is identifiable entirely by hair palette swaps, it feels weird that the main character can come out looking completely different from both families. I get why – it would probably be hard to market a main cast of characters that don't have a definite appearance – but even the «canon» Corrin doesn't look related to anyone.

Fishcovery

Characters in your magic castle are constantly tripping over magical items that are just lying around on the floor, and they always act like they've just found something strange or mysterious. If that's the random drop system you've set up, maybe don't add mundane items to that drop table.

Joyride

Metal Gear Solid V handles the way MGS games have always been meant to handle. I love the series but I think one of its major weaknesses has been how often what I'm trying to do does not line up with the game's inputs, but the controls in V felt awesome.

I spent so much time cavorting and parkouring and driving cars around in Ground Zeroes that it sort of distracted from the portrait of Very Serious Circumstances they were trying to paint for me.

Looks Could Kill

Norrin wrote this comic. Maybe the monsters always looked like that, and carpenters thought they were so cool-looking they started designing treasure chests to look like them. Really makes you think???
