Like many, I'm disappointed by Byleth reveal, not because s/he is from Fire Emblem, or because he is a swordsman but because he looks a lot like other Fire Emblem Swordman. His gameplay seen more unique and more true to Fire Emblem ethos with the whole weapon switch mechanic but it's not enough for me.

But Smash Ultimate isn't a charity or a contest, Nintendo isn't forced to put Doomslayer or Waluigi because they are «relevant» or «deserve it». Nintendo put what they believe the players want or in this case, for marketing purposes too.

But I don't expect they to pull this kinda lukewarm reveal a lot and the next one will probably be an interesting character with the obligatory Pokemon reveal shoved to the middle of the next season.

The is a reference to «Doom in Smash» thing. I feel old Doom perhaps could have a chance… but modern one is unapologetic about how gory it is.

The Doomslayer himself is not an issue, it's a guy in green armor with a shotgun, the issue is the rest of the game. Imagine some kid seeing Doomslayer in the game and deciding to check what his game is about. This is the kind of thing I believe crossed the mind of Sakurai when deciding if a character can get in or not.

Just for curiosity sake I decided to check Bayonetta trailer too and it's less explicit than I remembered. Sure you have some spread legs here and there but it's part of the trailer which also has angels, dancing and transformations.

Doom is RIP AND TEAR start to finish and if you remove it from Doom the game would lose a lot of it's identity.

Temtem launched and it was how I expected, with servers not handling the stress.

Can't say much about a game you can't really play but I like the premisse and I seen to be on the minority who like the Temtems designs.I truly believe if you picked a random Temtem and put it on Sword and Shield nobody would know better.

Tagged this comic as «pokemon» just because I can.

This is not a complain, but Temtem is so close to Pokemon I believe the could easily pick the whole game, change any reference from «temtem» to «pokemon», replace Cards with Pokeballs and nobody would know better.

I think the biggest real difference for Pokemon veteran is Temtem has some unique types like Digital and Crystal and seen to be missing some Pokemon types like Ghost and Metal.

Since I never played Pokemon (Gameboy were not sold here when I was a kid) Temtem is pretty much the «official» version for me.

Is it worth it? Well, the game is on beta and it's an MMORPG so this may be a plus or a minus depending of the person Persnonally I like to have a fresh start and if the game survives, not having to re-catch the critters every time seen like a bonus for me.

But there is no Pikachi there so if you like to see familiar faces you may want to go to Sword and Shield, assuming your favorite made the cut of course.
