Dota Never Changes

I think Dota community is really happy to have such a dedicated developer like Icefrog behind the game. You may not like some (or all) of the changes but I believe he does what he thinks is better for the game, and when I say «better for the game» I am not talking about desecrating it for some short term profit but what he believes will generate good gameplay.
This said, Dota today is very different from the launch. I also think someone starting today from scratch has an even bigger cliff to climb to understand the game.
Still, in the end, all you need to know it's YOUR fault the team lose, how they'll kindly point every time it happens.

Flanking Route

TF2 was the first FPS I noticed every map will have one, perhaps multiple flanking routes.
I call those the Main Route of Pain and Spam and the Flanking Route of Surprises and Possibilities.
Most people prefer Pain and Spam.

Bad Fanfic

When talking about movie adaptions of a videogame, there are two ways I can see it.
Either the source material is not good enough for whatever reason and I won't want to watch a movie about it because, as I said, the source material is not good enough.
Or the source material IS good and I don't want it to be changed because then, what's the point? This is an almost false advertisement.
Eventually, I realize those movies are not made for me so I ignore all of them. If someone comes and tells me they made a good adaption like Lord of the Rings I'll gladly watch it but otherwise, I'll just skip.
And by the way, I'm not even judging the quality of the movie. Sonic and Monster Hunter may be good movies (or not) but they just throw the bare minimum of the source material and call it a day. The lore is basically a cameo on their own movie when it should be the backbone of it.
I know very well those movies are made to the non-gamer crowd so why even bother? They picked their public and made their choice so what I am even doing there? Just to count in one hand the number of references and be happy my hobby is more mainstream?
The only way I'd watch a video game movie now is if it's so unabashedly nerd about its source I can recognize the balance patch they are using. I am exaggerating, of course, this would make for a terrible movie and I need to say I am exaggerating otherwise people will believe I am wanting to see a longplay of the game played by actors but I do like to see some respect for the source beyond knowing what's on the cover.

Ex Mode

There is a reason to use EX-guides on Girls Frontline, some nice rewards (resources, furniture, skins, etc) are sometimes locked behind the EX missions so people follow a guide because they want the reward but don't want to bother with the challenge and I can sympathize with that.
However, there is a thing called «ranked map» which haunts the community every few months. Ranked map is THE big e-peen measuring contest where commanders compete to see who can juggle more dolls back and forth in a line until one of them forget to move one of the dolls to a safe spot and she is instantly deleted.
Let me put it this way… I feel lots of players are not prepared for the EX ranked challenge, but do it anyway when they could get higher scores and more fun doing it on normal but there is a huge prejudice about doing it that way.
p.s. You can get the rewards doing it on normal by the way.

Customization

The funny part is, I tried to make an over-the-top mecha and it's not even the most extreme version I've seen around. It's probably even some viable composition on some game out there has some artillery platform.
