Just go there, and despair.

There is no way this movie can be good unless the whole movie thing is an elaborate hoax to a nice, cartoony 3d movie.

Here is the official annoucement from Capcom

SPONSORED CONTENT

Sponsored Content will be introduced into Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition on December 11. Sponsored content will be displayed in several locations in-game to remind you about costumes, bundles, and the Capcom Pro Tour. When Sponsored Content is enabled, players can obtain additional Fight Money in Ranked and Casual Matches – these bonuses come with an upper limit. Here are the places where you will see Sponsored Content:

Costumes: Ad Style – Every character will have an Ad Style costume where the sponsored content will appear somewhere on their clothing or model
Loading Ads – A sponsor will appear in the versus screen before a battle – this will not affect loading screen times
Stage Ads – Some tournament stages feature a sponsor like the Ring of Power

My take on it: Some stages (like the ones which are already stadiums) having ads doesn't bother me, it fits the theme of the stadium after all.

Costumes I'm not so thrilled… what reasons someone like Dalshim or Akuma would have to cover themselves in ads? Assuming the costumes itself aren't just ugly. Loading screen ads? I know it doesn't affect the match but I already paid for the game (and the DLCs) and I really don't need more ads being shoved down my throat.

This said, it's optional content which can be turned off so there is that. Still I expect a poorer streaming experience featuring Red Bull Ken fighting Monster Energy Blanka on Pepsi Stadium.

Before someone corrects me, let me already point some things…

Hearthstone has multiple Blizzard-sanctioned tournaments during the year, some like the last Blizzcon tournament alone had a 1 million prize pool. Some HCTs had 250k prizes, others 100k. Mind you, there are lots of HCTs every year.

The 10 million prize pool from Magic is across multiple events, both online and tabletop. It's not a single show like the International or Worlds.

Magic investment may look big but when you think how it's distributed it's not that lavish and I believe Blizzard may be spending even more on Hearthstone. However, I feel every company is trying to show they are the be$t e-sports out there.

However, the headline of 10 MILLION PRIZE surely looked nice and it's not like the other companies don't use similar methods.

By one side it's nice she got in, by another side even Shovel Knight got to be an assist. I guess it because on the early days of the Switch it was one of the 1st popular 3rd party games and because of that, it sold a lot.

I believe if you are a character of a big Japanese game you can get in Smash so I'm surprised 2B didn't get in but maybe they had the deal with Soul Calibur going already.

Can't say I didn't saw it coming… I guess pride was holding Blizzard back but I heard Activision told them to cut costs and a struggling game like Heroes seemed like a prime choice.

However, I don't want to talk about this right now, you can see the finer detail here with some pretty awful extra inside scopes here. What I want to point is the new politic of saving costs. I question if Blizzard will be able to keep the current quality with tighter budgets. I doubt the cream of the top would want to keep working at Blizzard if the pay was small, the project budget is tiny and the cafeteria doesn't have the best free donuts of the industry.

Time will tell, but I am already adjusting my expectations.

It's a pity Geralt isn't on Smash, I think it would be cool.

But looking at the cast, it looks like it heavily favors characters from Japanese games. I don't think it's favoritism as much as it's easier for Nintendo to handle the negotiations with Japanese companies where they may even know each other personally.

Still, since Shovel Knight joined I think we may see lots of surprise inclusion soon, even from foreign companies.

Except Waluigi, f*ck that guy.

Translator note: Guro is a vague Japanese term about a specific fetish… damn, this is hard….let me give an example.

Someone cut a person in two and fuck one half while the person is still barely alive. There, classic guro and this is a tame example. I guess the English term would be «snuff porn»?

Usually is very graphic and realistic, like anatomy atlas realistic and with huge doses of sadism. I don't suggest anyone to google image the term. You have been warned.

p.s. Guro seems to be a bastardization of the term «grotesque». I am surprised the Japanese lacked a specific term for that on their language.

Valve caved in and promissed some changes in Artifact.

I want to talk about it but it's late and I'm tired but suffice to say there may be some hope for the game after all. This said I hope none of you invested too deeply in Axecoins.

I'll open saying I don't think this was a good year for Blizzard, with Diablo Immortal, Heroes of the Storm going life support, multiple high profile members leaving AND the announced cost cuts for 2019.

However, there is a large gap between a company having a bad year and they filling for bankruptcy.

Yes, I believe there is a chance this is the start (or the increase?) of a fall in quality and yes, maybe eventually Blizzard will be the new Bethesda.

But some years ago people said the same thing about Wii era Nintendo and Epic was basically the company who made Unreal engine and look where we are now.

Honestly, the focus on releasing more games instead of living off the esports dream may even be a good change. However, I question if they'll be able to release AAA+ games with a shorter development cycle. Some companies know how to work fast while keeping quality, Blizzard doesn't look like one of those but time will tell.

This is the kind of comic I used to do all the time and I kind avoid now because I KNOW some people will not get it.

Still, it's Christmas and I gift myself with a bit of nostalgia, making a silent comic about an obscure mechanic which will confuse people who don't play Dota.

Happy Holi… Frostivus?

p.s. The ability in Dota 2 is called «Starstorm» but people just call it Starfall like in Dota 1, the same way people still call Nature's Prophet «Furion».
