Nerf Now!! 2051

Bayonetta comes to PC but I feel it's maybe a bit too late? Still, if people been waiting for it power to them.

Overwatch expansion is interesting. I like Tracer skin because it remove her goofy googles and this alone is enough for me to pick the skin. The PvE mode is very nice. Again, it remind me of Mann vs Machine but I like how you mix holding ground with charging foward and the extra mode which allow any hero allow for some wacky and fun line-ups..Still, with a single map you'lll get tired of it eventually.

Not many interesting news, I think I'm close to Witcher III end but there is also 2 expansions out there.

Enjoy the strip and cya tomorrow!

Playerunknown's Battleground (what a mouthful of a name) is one of those battle royale games like The Culling. If you are not familiar, it works like that…

A bunch of people are throw on a island and need to kill each other. The last one alive wins. To avoid people just hiding forever on the island, there is a poison cloud mechanic which slowly surround the island, forcing all players to converge to the same place and kill each other.

All of the games using the formula for me suffer the same problem… the game really rewards camping, and when you half of the server with the same idea you have a game which is FOR ME half walking simulator, half watching paint dry. It's not unheard for a guy start the game, find some good weapons lying around in a building and just hide in a bush / rock / room and win by killing the last enemy who had 10 kills but little health and ammo because of that.

The formula seen to work since the game obviously have it's crowd. For me, I just wish the matches were faster, with the poison area moving far, far faster and I wish whoever killed people get some kind of permanent bonus so killing people had some benefit giving whoever is active a bonus versus the campers.

But I guess I'm not the public for those games. For all campers out there, enjoy!

Without giving many spoilers (that's why I drew them like featureless men), there is a quest near the end of Witcher III where I need to pick between 2 rivals.

Now, usually I like to look at the greater picture, their motivations, secret agendas and whatnot, but on this special case, when Geralt really needed, one of the guys was there for him. There was NO way I could just turn my back for him now. The other guy could be baby Jesus riding a pony and I'd sack him.

Every time I see Ves in Witcher II and III, I think of only one thing: to tie the little laces on her shirt.

It's not the nudity which bothers me since Keira and DLC Triss wear more revealing outfit and Witcher in general is full of half and full-naked girls. No, it's the little laces there which bother me to no end, and the fear she'll catch a cold.

C'mon, don't be sloppy! Ties those things!

p.s. Added golden border because it's a classic wordless comic from the days of yore.

Nerf Now!! 2056

I'll post on my Patreon later the work which goes behind making a wordless comic as opposed of just using text so you guys can see why those are rare.

Now, I need to eat! Enjoy the comic.

Dota 2 got a interesting matchmaking update which while it won't solve the problem of being held hostage on a match with a griefer, will at least make it more rare.

I'm curious to see what impact those will have in the game long term.

Nerf Now!! 2058

Dota 2 now requires a linked phone number to play ranked matches, similar to what CS:Go does.

The goal is, among other things, to prevent smurfing. Smurfing, for those who don't know, is to create a low rank dota account for a number of reasons, among them…

- Quicker queue times for super high level players due to a bigger pool of players at low levels

- Practice new buids, play with friends or just enjoy a easier match..

- Ranking up the low level account and eventually selling it.

- Griefing other players since you have nothing to lose.

Obviously, the requirement of a phone number isn't the biggest hurdle to jump. People may «borrow» one from their relatives / friends or just buy a spare one, but I feel Valve isn't concerned about people who have a single alt account, what they are trying to prevent is griefers and account sellers to having a easy time.

And yes, griefers and sellers may still do the whole phone link thing but this involve now more time and money as opposed to clicking 3 buttons and setting a new account.

All in all, I think it's a nice step into a better future. People will stll insta-pick Pudge, ping mid and call you cyka, but it's Dota we are talking about here.

Nerf Now!! 2059

Eight edition are lots of editions! It will probably change some rules which will change my knowledge of the game from nothing to nil. I follow 40k for the settings because the game itself has way too much dice rolling, and this is coming from someone who enjoys some nice numbered cubes.

I think the most telling change is the end of codices. I feel on this virtual age where info is easily shared, having books who can be easily pirated is not profitable. Better to focus on the mini part of the business who is more profitable and let the whole book part of the business go.

Talking about the lore part, looks like it is somehow moving, but I know there are many ways to inch the story foward in a way where the impending doom SEEN close but it never happens. The far future been grimdark for ages and yet no in-game empire fell. It doesn't help the changes on the fantasy Warhammer were not well received to a point «Sigmarized» (as in, Age of Sigmar) turned into a slur between the players.

Personally, I enjoy the older lore more but hey, let's hope for the best here.

If all fails, throw more dakka I guess.

p.s. For those who don't know, Games Workshop isn't keen of suing many 40k fan projects. While I hope they won't bother me it's something I always keep in mind when doing stuff about their IPs.

Nerf Now!! 2060

I can get some misunderstanding forcing some fights between heroes for some fanservice, but villains holding hands and working together is always hilarious. For people with huge egos and world domination agendas they sure know how to tolerate each other when needed.
