Nerf Now!! 1801
Instead of adding new heroes, Icefrog been releasing new items. While not as flashy as a new hero with new funny lines and abilities, I think this shake up the gameplay more.
I think the Blademail change may have the biggest impact. No more popping Black King Bar and going yolo. I think this will separate great carries who know how to control agression from yolo carries who just popped bkb and went nuts.
The spell damage I mentioned is nifty but don't expect spells to one shoot people like a farmed carry, would Still extra damage is extra damage and it helps you feel a bit more powerful come late game.
Overall, I'm curious to see how the top teams will adapt to the changes. Good job Frog of Ice. Now stop nerfing Death Waifu so I can play her…

Bite the bullet and bought a new video card. I'm a bit stingy about spending my money because we never know the tomorrow but my old one is 3 years old and it was not even the cream of the crop when i bought it.
Been watching the WePlay Dota tournament. It;s sad to see Elite Wolves play because some of their players are banned from life from any Valve sponsored tournament so even if they play amazing and win they'll never go to The International. Still, they did their bed by throwing matches for money, time to lay on it.

Comic jokes aside, the finals between Zest and Ty were very hype. I won't spoil the result but I really recommend you to watch it if you are into RTS, or maybe even Dota or LoL.
We also had the WePlay Dota finals with the suprise CIS vs Korea finals. Korea slowly and steady aproaching the dream of dota championship.
That's all for today, have a nice week folks.
p.s. I edited this comic with a new one since I was not totally satisfied with how it end up.

Gonna try to watch Civil War this weekend. I have moderate expectations for this one. Can't be worse than Batman vs Supers.
While the joke today is about Shaman, I'd say the most auto-pilot deck right now is C'thun Druid. Play stuff on curve and hope C'thun isn't on the bottom of the deck.
Old Secret Paladin was both easier, quicker and stronger though.
Unrelated, but there was not a single new secret on this expansion.

Personally, I find Murloc Tinyfins ugly little critters. Maybe they are cute on a «pug» (the dog) kind of cute where it's so ugly it turns cute but I still kill all of them.
Now, Refreshment Vendor I don't like to kill. He give me free food and just want to sell more cakes.

There is this rumor a hero based on Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, would be added to dota. This rumor is old enough to be linked to the original dota so we are talking about ancient «news» here.
I think this would be the first totally original Dota 2 hero, and the bananas kinda makes sense given Icefrog did similar things when he released other heroes.
Still, given how long Pit Lord is taking to be released we may only see Sun Wukong bundled together with Half-Life 3.

Saw some people celebrating the lack of random critical hits on Overwatch and got curious to know how many people really despise the mechanic.
Of course I don't like dying to random criticals, because I don't like dying in general but I hardly found random criticals that impactful in TF2 given the number of players on each side and the lenght of the maps. A bad player may kill a good player with a random critical but a bad TEAM won't win a match because of it.
And honestly, turning a fight around because your minigun started to shoot lasers was always a nice moment.
Honestly, Spies were far more infuriating to me than critical hits.

I finally managed to catch Civil War and it was a very fun movie.
I think my favorite parts were the ones with Spider-Man. Probably the best incarnation of the hero I've see on the silver screen. I think they really captured the essence of the character.
And essence is the keyword here. The comparision with Batman vs Superman is inevitable. Superman was a pushover the whole movie and Batman was more neurotic than usual. Special mention to Alfred throwing so many quips at Bruce I'm surprised he was not fired.
Long story short… DC heroes on the movies didn't look much like their comic counterpart, like someone read the original source and decided it was not good enough and decided to update it to catch a broader audience.
Or maybe they just lacked fucking charisma. I don't know… Marvel team just had better flow.
