To be honest, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do a comic about this. I've seen some coverage about complaints that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has chosen another female lead in Jyn Erso. And I've seen some complaints about those complaints. Personally, I've seen more backlash against the backlash than I've seen genuine backlash – but maybe that says more about the sites I read, friends I have, and social media I follow. I don't think the backlash is newsworthy in the first place. I think Rogue One looks cool and there's a lot of positive hype!

Buuut I also write a comic called «Nerd Rage», so here we are.

Realistically, Star Wars follows human characters because we're humans and the stories are for humans – but when you really think about it, it's a little weird that a frnachise set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away can't escape the drama of human beings.
