Juicy

The original female vampire costume in Bravely Default was actually considered TOO SEXY for American eyeballs, so the localized version of the game threw some more layers on there! I guess it's still supposed to be way hot, but I thought it was funny that it was also the class that mimics gross monster attacks like barf jets.

Fashion Deux Pas

I like that Bravely Default (and other job-system games) pair gaining someone's powers with also gaining their wardrobe.

IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED PLAYING BRAVELY DEFAULT, THIS IS THE PART WHERE YOU SHOULD STOP READING. (Spoilers follow!)

Okay I was super into Bravely D, up to the point where they literally make you replay the game. Multiple times. To the game's credit, I really sympathized with the characters' despair every time I'd open the world map and all those goddamn exclamation points popped up in the same places, but I feel like the emotion was not worth the hours spent retreading the same ground. This game has PROBABLY the laziest artificial extenders I've ever seen, and you really notice it when they even reuse the same dialog – especially the stuff being said by the characters that have experienced this scenario three times now, as if they have no idea what's happening. In a lot of cases it's a literal copy-and-paste, and that can really suck the gravity out of it!

I do still really like the game, but it's hard to open the 3DS again when you know exactly what the next two hours of «progress» are going to be.

Hey! So! A LONG LONG TIME AGO (like, most of this comic's lifetime ago), I started going to college! As of about two weeks ago, I stopped doing that! Because I graduated! From college!

Now that I have my degree in mechanical engineering, I'm starting a new job building spaceship parts (I AM INCREDIBLY SERIOUS), and have just finished moving from New York to Wisconsin to do that! But I'm sure you're wondering: what does that mean for this comic? The answer: NOT MUCH, HONESTLY. I still love making comics and I still plan to keep doing it until my hands fall off, so Awkward Zombie will keep updating on its usual schedule uninterrupted. Except for this non-comic to say that.

Sometimes you get traded a Caterpie or a Flabebe and then immediately just trade the thing right back out to get rid of it, and I have to wonder how many Pokemon are caught in infinite chains of being completely unwanted. This phenomenon seems like it needs a heartbreaking PSA commercial, so someone should get on that.

I have no idea where that Zubat is crying from.
