Some people are lucky enough to be born in the right social circles. They can steal millions whenever they want.
But you don't have to be privileged. There was once an ordinary lady who created an imaginary cryptocurrency and scammed people out of four billion dollars.
And that's what makes your system great. All you need is a dream and the ethics of a sociopathic hyena and you can become rich.

Are we
going into accounting crime?
Not directly. Those crimes tend to be indiscriminate. There is no honor in stealing from the poor
Accounting trails can lead us to who is behind the scams. Those are the individuals who deserve our personal attention.
Which is why, even in this age of computers and hyper-efficiency, there is still a need for artists and craftsmen such as ourselves.

We are going to find out why it's gotten expensive to run the space station. We will learn where the mistakes were made. For the moment, we are on the side of honesty. Also, we don't want to make the same mistakes.
The sport of crime is a game played well by only a few. As this star system's self proclaimed preeminent criminals, it is our responsibility to establish a good reputation for all those who follow in our footsteps.

We are out of the high traffic area. The bridge no longer needs to be continuously occupied.
Thank you. Please open a communication channel. I would like to talk to my family.
Channel open. Your one-way communication delay is currently 15 seconds.
My youngest is going to hate that. Lightspeed limits really take the immediacy out of knock knock jokes.

Hi, everyone. We're further apart now. It takes fifteen seconds for light to travel between us.
That means thirty seconds before we can reply to each other. So if we each talk for thirty seconds and listen for thirty, we'll be able to converse.
Of course, getting everyone to take turns talking is hard enough when we're all in the same room, so we'll see how this goes.

Well, it's been about fifty seconds and no reply. Guess I'll keep going.
I just know
you're going to start talking at the same time as
Hi, Mom! We took Beekay to the park. He got chased by a duck!

…And she said she gets the last slice of pizza because she's the oldest and Dad ate it while we were fighting…
…And they want to build a new city by the river. Robots don't swim. Dad says it's because robots need a lot of cooling…
…And then, and then we watched cartoons and ate ice cream…

You have to give Mom time to reply.
Okay.
She lagged out.
No, you're just at the age where thirty seconds is a long time.

Bye, Mom.
Goodbye, kids. Give my love to Dad. We'll message from now on.
It's too bad we don't have f.t.l. communication other than really expensive ships. Though every year, people claim they do. The latest one was a pastor who said he could route messages through heaven.
He didn't get many people to invest. Everyone knows call centers would be a hell type thing.

Ship, would you prefer someone stay on the bridge?
No. None of you are real pilots.
Please do not take offense. I hold you in the highest regard.
However, I find it disturbing that the little people who live inside me and can override my decisions don't fully understand what they are doing.
I think anyone would find that situation disturbing.
