I think Captain America is perfectly able to defeat Iron Man in a one-versus-one brawl, but not punching his metal helmet with his bare hands.

I like to believe Iron Man would have the upper hand, with all the protection and firepower his armor give, but if I learned something about comics is no armor beats plot armor.
