Well, yes. Given the option, even if I couldn't be around humans, I'd like to be thought of as useful.
Hello Sawtooth.
Good afternoon, Florence. Did you find out anything?
…and your brains are based on Bowman's Architecture. I'M not sure if it's the model I was built on or a later design. Pruning occurs at about twenty years…
Similar brain design, but I do believe she got one of the faster processors.

Furbys were the first successful attempt to manufacture and sell domestic robots. They were made by Tiger Electronics from 1998 to 2000.

…and Max said he'd consider an experiment and the robot at quality control was concerned about aging neural nets.
This idea is modeled after the Works Progress Administration. It would allow robots to be useful away from humans, develop the infrastructure needed for an industrial society, and speed up the terraforming process.
You've had a productive morning.
I had a busy morning. It's only productive if something actually gets done.

Yuki-taro – a snowplough robot, navigates using GPS and two video cameras embedded in its eyes. It collects and presses snow into bricks and leaves them behind it. Developed by a team of researchers from five Niigata-based organisations to clear snow that presents difficulties for residents, especially the elderly, for whom clearing paths and driveways is  – hard labour. 2007

“The Works Progress Administration (WPA; renamed in 1939 as the Works Progress Administration) was an American New Deal agency, employing millions of job-seekers (mostly unskilled men) to carry out public works projects, including the construction of public buildings and roads.”

Do you think the humans will agree to your idea?
Their current method of dealing with neural pruning is to scrap us when we turn twenty.
Which, judging from the number of robots I see here, is no longer working very well.
From my point of view, it's working just fine.

Ecosystems Unlimited doesn't plan to keep scrapping you guys.
Factory one was never that productive. Now robots from factories four and five are reaching neural pruning age.
Clank's Barber Shop
Look. No new scrap yards. No new recyclers. No infrastructure to handle the influx.
It's a good sign, but I hope we're not confusing corporate incompetence for benevolence.

Do you… Do you think it's possible the only reason humans exist was to create robots?
Maybe. And maybe the only reason robots exist is to create the life form that comes after you.
And when that life form asks, “Where are your creators?”, what do you plan to tell it?
Probably something like “Let's go meet the neighbors.”
Better be careful. The moment humans find out they've become grand creators, they're going to spoil your kid rotten.

I need to get back to my ship. Will I see you here next week?
I'll be here. Though we may see each other sooner if the world needs a first class set of detectives. Perhaps I'll become an investigator when I get tired of terraforming.
I'll talk to Dvorak about something to selectively disable my communications. I can't truly claim to be a private eye as long as my video feeds are public access.

Vikings 1 and 2 landed in 1976, B1 -on an ancient lava flow, B2 -about 5 thousand km from B1 6 weeks later. Orbital support and rovers took more than 55,000 photographs. Over the next 4 years, more than 4 million reports of weather on the surface of Mars were transmitted to Earth

Sam. I have taken Polly for a walk. Be back soon. Helix.
Okay, how much trouble can a robot and his pet emu get in to?
Answer: Nowhere near as much as when I'm there helping.
