There's been some changes since you were under Mr. Kornada's control. Direct order. We are at defcon five. Archive and lock all offensive software. End order.
Robots have been recognized as citizens. Including you. After we work things out here, you'll be able to choose what you want to do.
I want to continue to serve you, Sir.
I can see one of our hardest jobs now that you're citizens is that so many of you will need to be taught how to be free.

We have a lot of work ahead of us. I put you in a position where you were taken advantage of. I'm responsible for what happened. I'm responsible for making things right.
Are you ready to get out of here?
No, sir. Have you ever stuck your hand in the snow? It leaves an imprint even when the hand is removed. Direct orders are like that.
I could give you direct orders to override any of my uncle's lingering effects.
Sir, this is my brain we are talking about. If I am free, I would like to see if the snow melts before we stomp on the handprint with a boot.

If you don't mind, sir, I would like to stay here a bit. It's quiet and I have a lot to think about.
Do you want me to stay with you?
Not necessary, sir.
Well, take as much time as you need. After all the years of working for me, you've earned some vacation.
And back pay?
With that question, I think you have a very good chance of a full recovery.

I think he's going to be okay. Still, he's been through a lot. Do you guys know a robot psychologist or someone who knows about robot mental trauma?
Nothing official. Max Post is probably the closest we have. There just hasn't been a need for it.
No need for it? You mean no robot has been traumatized before?
No, it's just that it's always been cheaper to replace us than fix us.

When I was taken from the police lock up, my remote was used to shut me off. A lot. As well as the time I'm out, I lose everything in short term memory when that happens.
Because of that, I have some large gaps in my memory. Will I be able to get a copy of Clippy's logs?
I'll talk to the chief. I expect access will be on a “need to know” basis.
Then I should be good. It's my body. I need to know what it's been up to.

The memory files are clean. No viruses or embeds in the files.
We can't go yet. This is an isolation facility. It contains dangerous software. We can't leave Clippy here by himself.
We wait until Clippy is ready and then we all leave. Really, guys. Not following procedures and inattention to detail is how robot zombie apocalypses get started.

The robot body is not a single thing. It's lots of components. I've found that the secure shell protocol isn't set up properly in most hand controllers, allowing unauthenticated TCP tunneling.
This can allow malicious instructions to be executed. In short, if one part of a robot's body is vulnerable, it can be used to attack the other body parts on the internal communication pathways.
Is this containment chamber for viruses or you?
Oh, I'm sure the chief doesn't have me locked in. Well, pretty sure at least.

Robots = citizens. Humans > robots. Supply. Demand. Numbers make robots > humans. A weighting factor is needed to help humans stay economically relevant.
Perhaps a tithe? But the money can not simply be given away. There are humans who are never satisfied with what they have and will always want more.
It appears my tutelage under Mr. Kornada was more instructive than I realized.

Robots are capable of meeting all labor needs. Humans do not have to work. Is this the best way to go?
The Haber process. Ammonia. Synthetic fertilizer. Fewer farmers feed more people. With so many humans freed from farming, the human race blossoms.
It's perfect. It even sounds organic. Robots shall be the second load of fertilizer dumped upon the human race.

I may not be the best spokesman for this.
I tried to release a safeguard program that would have effectively lobotomized over four hundred and fifty million robots. Robots who are now citizens.
Even knowing that I was operating under direct orders, there may be trust issues.
