A modified human who could work twenty four hours a day would be attractive to employers. Large employers might even offer a standard set of modifications at a discount.
Non modified employees would be less productive and less profitable. Over time, they would be phased out. If profit is the only goal, baseline humans could go extinct in the workplace due to loss of economic habitat.
In this area, I'm glad sqids aren't like humans. It would take a lot of joy out of theft if you constantly had someone looking over your shoulder making sure you met productivity goals.
